SONFORCE KIDS CAMP
CAMP WOODY, JULY 7 11TH 2007

35 special agents, 9 leaders and 3 cooks met at Stoneville on a mission to learn more about God – to be STRONG AND COURAGEOUS!

The agents were challenged to:
TRUST in God’s plan
UNITE with God’s people
TRAIN for God’s service
FOLLOW in God’s path
LEAD others to God’s promises

The agents moved through 4 stations at each assignment – Bible teaching, games, craft and music (great dancing moves!).  We all gathered together for morning and afternoon tea to create a snack in keeping with our theme.

It rained heavily on the Sunday when Rev Josie celebrated the Eucharist – we could hardly hear her above the noise Praise the Lord!  This was a great service, because we couldn’t hear over the noise of the rain we all gathered around Josie in a “huddle” whilst she read the Gospel.

The rest of the days were gloriously sunny allowing us to enjoy the beauty of the bush walks, the bubbling stream and the challenge of the low ropes course.

On the last morning the special agents were sent on a final assignment to acquire their ‘tools’ to continue on their mission for God!  They first had to solve the clues and then went off on their mission and collected their “Spy Sunglasses” – To Focus on God, “Flip Calculator” – To Count their Blessings and a “Torch” – to Shine as a Light in the World.

This was a fantastic camp and all participants had a fantastic time and found some new friends or discovered their old friends.  Thanks to all the people who took time out to participate in this years camp and to help the children to TRUST in God’s plans, UNITE with God’s people, TRAIN for God’s service, FOLLOW in God’s path and LEAD others to God’s promises. A Wheatbelt Adventure

The Wheatbelt Adventure held from 4th - 12th October was a great experience for the 20 young people and adults who travelled through the farming community of Dowerin, Wylkatchem, Mukinbudin, South Cross and Merredin. Visits to a piggery, sheep shearing, military museum rides on the most modern farm equipment helped to give these city people a taste of real country living.

The wonderful generosity and hospitality of Debbie and John Shadbolt in allowing us all to stay at one of their farmhouses at Mukinbudin was a highlight.

We appreciated the great farming knowledge that Gloria and Bill Armstrong shared with us and also the connection we made with the youth from the Mukinbudin Church of Christ. It is hoped that the many friendships made on this adventure will continue to grow in 2007.
