Ross Burnett

Barely out of nappies, Ross remembers planting tulip bulbs with his Mum. Ever since, he’s had the closest relationship with the natural world. The many strands of his horticulture profession weave together design, ecology and regenerative food production.
Ross was the Nursery Manager for Trillion Trees (Community revegetation nursery) for 8 years. Then, recognising the value of gardening for mental and physical health, worked in a minimum security prison farm, growing food and gardening with prisoners. After 10 rewarding years, he now teaches horticulture in three 3 different prisons.
Ross owner-built a passive solar straw home, and his passion is ‘Zero waste’. Everything he does is underpinned by the permaculture values of interconnectedness, reciprocity and care for the earth and its people.
Life’s brief to Ross is to be of service, which he fully embraces with warmth and enthusiasm.
