Café and Shop Coordinator

Growing Friends Society (GFS Perth) is a 140-year-old WA organisation entering an exciting new chapter.
In November 2026, GFS Perth will open Friendship Central: a purpose-built social hub in West Swan where friendship, good food, local enterprise and care for creation come together. At its heart will be the 40-seat Friendly Fig Café and our Makers & Traders shop, bringing locally made products, a permaculture program and around 140 years of GFS Perth history together in one welcoming place.
About the role
We’re looking for a Café & Shop Coordinator to help launch two important parts of this new space: Friendly Fig Café and Makers & Traders.
You’ll join us before the doors open, giving you the opportunity to help shape the café and shop from the ground up — from developing menus and establishing systems to creating the welcoming atmosphere that will make Friendship Central feel like home.
Once we open, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations, make excellent coffee, support a volunteer-rich team and help create a warm, inclusive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows hospitality, enjoys bringing people together and wants to be part of building something genuinely new.
Food Safety Supervisor and First Aid certification required by commencement.
